This one-day symposium brings together experts to provide state of the art research findings and clinical practice applications for cognitive disorders and cognitive enhancement treatments in broad psychiatric conditions. Speakers represent diverse programs in the Boston area and expert collaborators from Pittsburgh. The symposium will advance the knowledge and practice of various mental health practitioners, including psychiatrists, psychologists, neurologists, social workers, nurses, occupational therapists, and other mental health professionals and students from these health professions.

This course is designed so that participants will be able to:
  1. Discuss the nature of cognitive disorders in psychiatry.
  2. Discuss current thinking on the rationale and approaches to treatment of cognitive disorders.
  3. Understand the state of the field as emerging cognitive enhancement approaches are applied to different neuropsychiatric disorders.
